    Welcome to Elburton Primary School

    Welcome to Elburton Primary School

As Headteacher, I feel privileged to lead a school that is committed to bringing out the very best in every individual.

At Elburton Primary, we are proud to offer a rich range of opportunities that extend well beyond the classroom. We place strong emphasis on character development, a carefully planned and ambitious curriculum, high standards of behaviour, and providing meaningful experiences that broaden pupils’ horizons and build cultural capital.

From our youngest children in Pre-School, who benefit from their own exciting outdoor learning area, to those preparing for transition at the end of Key Stage 2, we provide high-quality learning environments both indoors and outdoors. Our facilities include modern classrooms, outdoor learning spaces, playgrounds, a sports field, a well-stocked library, and a swimming pool.

Throughout their time with us, we are committed to:

    • ensuring every child achieves their full potential
    • supporting the development of the whole child
    • raising aspirations
    • deepening understanding of the world and each child’s place within it
    • preparing pupils for the next stage of their education

Our curriculum is carefully designed to develop strong foundations in oracy, reading, writing and mathematics. Through engaging and meaningful learning, rooted in our values, we tailor outcomes to meet the needs of every child. Respect sits at the heart of our school, creating a safe, kind and inclusive environment where all can thrive. We aim to develop confident, collaborative and curious learners, well prepared for the future.

Elburton Primary School has been at the heart of the local community for over 60 years. We value strong partnerships with parents and the wider community, recognising the importance of working together to support every child’s learning journey. In September 2023, we were proud to join the Learning Academies Trust and are delighted to be part of this collaborative family of 18 schools.

We warmly invite you to visit us and experience the welcoming atmosphere of our school. We would be delighted to meet you and show you around—please contact the school office to arrange a visit.

Thank you for considering Elburton Primary School. We look forward to welcoming you.

    Keith Smithers
